Middle School Students Review ‘Kelso’s Choices’
During a Warrior STRONG activity on April 12, Chenango Valley Middle School students reflected on the positive lessons they learned from “Kelso’s Choices” in elementary school.

“Kelso’s Choices” teaches children conflict management skills and helps them to distinguish the difference between big and little problems.

For their Warrior STRONG exercise, students worked in groups and were given a choice to act out. For example, if a group was given the choice to “talk it out,” they role-played a scenario in which talking out a small conflict could help to resolve the issue.

The goal of this activity was to remind students that they always have a choice in responding to problems. While students learned “Kelso’s Choices” in elementary school, the conflict management skills will continue to be applicable throughout their entire lives.
