Thank you to all of our retirees for the dedication you have provided to the Chenango Valley school community! Your hard work and care is truly appreciated! Below are some words of wisdom and exciting future plans we received!

Carrie Broughton has taught for 33 years with 25 of them being here at Chenango Valley. Mrs. Broughton has served as a special education teacher, special education instructional leader, and special education co-chair. She graduated from Chenango Valley, her children attended the district, and now she will retire from the place that she holds dear. Mrs. Broughton says she is proud to be a Warrior because "We are such a close family." Her words of wisdom to other warriors would be that "Hard work is the key to success!" In the future, she plans to travel, spend time with her family (especially her three granddaughters), and engage in work with her therapy dog.

Kelly Wiser has worked in the Chenango Valley Central School District for 22 years. She was a reading specialist for 20 years and taught first grade for two years. Mrs. Wiser says her time spent at CV has been highlighted by working with the most dedicated, talented, and conscientious teachers. She says she has formed lifelong relationships and made memories that will remain long after she leaves. As for the future, Mrs. Wiser plans to travel and spend time with her family!

Teresa Ruf has worked at Chenango Valley for 20 years. During that time she has served in roles including as a special education teacher, co-teacher, and consultant teacher for tenth grade, mostly ninth grade and for the last two years - 12th grade.  Mrs. Ruf also became the Transition Coordinator for Chenango Valley in 2015. What makes Mrs. Ruf proud to be a Warrior? "I grew up as a Black Knight (Windsor), but having a husband that was a Warrior, sending all three of my children, and countless other “kids” (students) through Chenango Valley has made me become Warrior proud!" As for words of wisdom, Mrs. Ruf says to "Treat every day as a new day; as a gift." In her retirement, Mrs. Ruf plan on spending time with her husband and family, gardening, and traveling.
