Congratulations to Chenango Valley High School Class of 2021 senior Jakob Emm who signed a National Letter of Intent to participate in the men's lacrosse program for Lees-McRae College! A signing event took place on January 5. While there were limited attendees due to COVID-19 protocols, an abundance of support was still present.
Chenango Valley Varsity Lacrosse Coach Mr. Humphrey noted that in addition to Jakob’s lacrosse skills and dedication, his character has also been commendable throughout the years.
“It’s not very often that a player greets you every day with a handshake and a ‘How is your day going, coach?’” said Coach Humphrey.
“And then at the end of practice, Jake would shake my hand and say, ‘Have a great evening, coach!’ And that’s just the type of person that Lees-McRae is going to get,” Coach Humphrey added.
Jakob also shared gratitude towards his coaches for helping him to reach this accomplishment.
Lees-McRae College, nestled in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is a great place for Jakob who said he plans to study Wildlife Biology with hopes to one day work as a park ranger in a national park. Chenango Valley wishes Jakob the best of luck in all future endeavors!
