On January 18, eighth grade students participated in a full day of events to help them focus on future goals. Students began their day by completing a career development survey, then went to SUNY Broome for the regional SPARK event. At the event, they were able to participate in a variety of interactive sessions geared toward student interests and career opportunities around the Southern Tier. The activities at SUNY Broome were sponsored by the Greater Binghamton Education Outreach Program, Broome-Tioga BOCES, SUNY Broome Community College, Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, and The Agency.

Upon returning to school, students rotated through six sessions designed to help them transition into high school. Sessions included course requirements and selection, high school expectations, the social transition to high school, a tour of the high school, and opportunities for academics, extracurriculars, arts and sports. Thank you to all who made this great day possible, including CV High School P2 leaders who helped to lead sessions at the school.
