On October 21, former graduates of Chenango Valley High School returned to their roots and provided inspiration to current Chenango Valley Central School District students. CV was proud to welcome this year’s Chenango Valley Alumni Hall of Fame honorees, also including a distinguished community member, for a day and night of recognition for their noteworthy accomplishments.

During the day, the honorees enjoyed a special luncheon with CV High School student guides at the CV Middle School/High School. The honorees then had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Gill in front of the whole CV student body via a districtwide Zoom. The guests of honor answered questions such as what made CV special to them and also shared words of advice for future CV graduates. Afterwards, the honorees were able to speak in CV High School classrooms related to their current roles and answer student questions there as well.

Later on in the evening, the honorees were recognized at a reception and auction hosted by the Chenango Valley Alumni Association (CVAA). The event was held at the Holiday Inn Binghamton Downtown. There, the honorees of distinction were surrounded by community members, district staff, past honorees, family, and friends. The students who guided the honorees throughout the day were able to introduce them before their speeches at the recognition event. In addition, these students, with the help of CV music teacher Molly Crocker, performed musical pieces for the event’s attendees. Each honoree shared a speech with inspiring and empowering words, along with recollections of what makes them proud to be part of the Warrior community. Dr. Heysek was not able to attend the event. CVAA president Maralena Dropp shared his insightful speech on his behalf.

Proceeds from the CV Alumni Association evening event will help to aid both CV’s Warrior Fund (to assist families in need) and scholarship opportunities for CV students.
