Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the Walk-a-Thon in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, held at the Chenango Valley High School stadium on May 11! Sponsored by the Chenango Valley Athletic Club and in collaboration with Mrs. Wertz's Math 9 class, students were able to apply real-world math skills for an important cause.

Over the course of several months, in addition to using their math skills to help plan for several items, such as the quantity of food and T-shirts needed, students helped to spread the word about the event. Jonas LaBelle created the logo for the event’s T-shirts and posters, and even designed an incredible banner. Venessa Davis did a wonderful job helping to MC the event with Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Feyerabend. Students in the Chenango Valley High School Interact Club also assisted with volunteer work at the event.

Thank you, CV High School Interact Club volunteers!

After the 45-minute walk, which included a great turnout of participants, those in attendance were able to enjoy refreshments, face painting, temporary tattoos, and juggling performed by Mr. Stafford! (Watch the video above to see the fun in action!)

The $3,500 fundraising goal was surpassed! Proceeds will support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which ensures families never receive a bill for their child's cancer treatment. St. Jude is at the forefront of advancing the understanding and treatment of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

In addition to those who generously contributed to the cause by participating in the walk, volunteering, making donations, and purchasing T-shirts, we extend our gratitude to the community sponsors:
