Congratulations to the 28 Chenango Valley High School Class of 2024 seniors who earned the New York State Seal of Civic Readiness! At graduation, they will receive the seal on their diplomas. We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of these students!

The Civic Readiness initiative focuses on the pillars of Civic Knowledge, Civic Skills & Actions, Civic Mindsets, and Civic Experiences. According to the NYSED Seal of Civic Readiness webpage, earning this seal:
  • shows the student’s understanding of a commitment to participatory government; civic responsibility and civic values;
  • demonstrates to universities, colleges, and future employers that the student has completed an action project in civics or social justice; and
  • recognizes the value of civic engagement and scholarship.

Students needed to fulfill specific requirements to showcase their civic knowledge and involvement. Their accomplishments reflect their hard work, commitment to the community, and dedication to making informed decisions for the greater good. Great job!
