Description:
The Chenango Valley Central School District invites you to attend an informative presentation titled “Behavior is Communication: What Your Child is Telling You and Ways to Reduce Sensory Meltdowns” on Tuesday, October 26, beginning at 6:00 p.m. This will be part of a series of monthly presentations to provide various support and resources to our Warrior community.

Presentation overview:
Tantrums and sensory meltdowns can look and sound similar. The causes of these behaviors and how we as caregivers respond are important to understand. In order to provide the necessary support, we will focus on how they differ from one another. Parents and caregivers will leave this presentation with the ability to recognize which area(s) a child is having difficulty with and what strategies, activities, and tools they can use to help their child communicate their needs as well as increase the child's ability to advocate for themselves in order to reduce meltdowns.

How to Attend (In Person or via Zoom):
This presentation will be open to parents/guardians, educators, and community members. Those who wish are able to attend in person at Warrior Rooms B/C next to the Chenango Valley Middle School/High School library. In-person attendees must wear a face mask and follow COVID-19 protocols. If you would prefer to participate remotely, please see the information below.
