November 20 Board of Education Recognitions
The November 20 Chenango Valley Board of Education meeting included some noteworthy recognitions!
 
Anesia Christian-Tas was recognized for participating in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Cross Country Championships this past weekend in Plattsburgh.

The Chenango Valley varsity girls swim team was recognized for being Section IV Class B champions for the second year in a row.

In addition, Lindsey Rice was recognized for qualifying to participate in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Girls Swimming and Diving Championships this upcoming weekend.

Chenango Valley was recognized for being a New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) “School of Excellence” in the 2018-2019 school year. For this achievement, Chenango Valley Athletics had to have at least 75 percent of varsity teams meet the qualifications to be a NYSPHSAA scholar-athlete team. To qualify as a scholar-athlete team, the average GPA for 75 percent of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.

Chenango Valley Athletics was also noted for receiving a New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) "Award of Excellence" for exemplary display of sportsmanship, ethics and integrity.

Chenango Valley was recognized for receiving a $6,000 grant to further Community School efforts (on behalf of the Promise Zone Partners, Broome County Mental Health and Broome-Tioga BOCES). Middle School Social Worker and School-Community Coordinator Mrs. Beth Hubenthal also shared a presentation on Chenango Valley's current goals and work to further its efforts as a Community School.
