Mrs. Clark shared some of the fun and learning her sixth grade science classes have been up to this week!
On December 4, students explored the connection between science and social-emotional learning (SEL) with CV Counselor Mrs. Crawford and Prevention Specialist Mrs. Ruhm. They learned to recognize and manage stress, discovering that everyone experiences it differently. Through interactive stations, they practiced positive coping skills such as deep breathing, coloring, exercise, and self-affirmation.
Then, on December 5, it was a “dino”mite day with Dr. Richard Firenze (Emeritus Professor, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor, SUNY Broome), who shared his expertise on fossils! Students rotated through fossil stations, examining and making inferences about ancient creatures while learning about fossilization. A HUGE thanks to Dr. Firenze for leaving a positive lasting “impression” on our students!
