Chenango Valley Central School District Closure
UPDATE (3/27/2020): On March 27, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all New York State public schools (including Chenango Valley Central School District) will remain closed until April 15, as he continues to monitor and assess the COVID-19 situation. We will continue to provide additional updates to families as they become available.

Dr. David P. Gill, Superintendent of Schools

David Gill joined the Chenango Valley School District in 1986 as a Mathematics teacher. Dr. Gill came to us from Binghamton City School District where he also taught Mathematics. His career at Chenango Valley expanded to include the role of Mathematics Department Chairperson until 2005 when he was offered the position of Middle School Principal. Dr. Gill served as building principal until his appointment in 2010 as Assistant Superintendent of Schools. In January 2012, he was appointed to the position of Interim Superintendent and remained in this role until his appointment in February 2014 as Superintendent of Schools. 

Dr. Gill is a graduate of Binghamton North High and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Scranton, a Master’s degree in Math Education from SUNY Binghamton and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration from SUNY Cortland. In January 2018, he gained his doctorate of Educational Leadership and Curriculum Instruction from the University of Phoenix.

Dr. Gill is married to Christine and has four children – Chelsey, Tyler, Callie and McKenna. Dr. Gill likes to stay active in the community and is a member of Hillcrest Rotary.

As Chenango Valley’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Gill works hard as our school district strives to provide the best educational environment to help all children reach their potential. He works collaboratively with the school board, administration, teachers, parents and students to maximize student achievement.


Mrs. Michelle Feyerabend, Assistant Superintendent of Schools
Michelle Feyerabend
Michelle Feyerabend joined the Chenango Valley Central School District in July 2017 as the Assistant Superintendent. Mrs. Feyerabend came to our district from the Johnson City Central School District where she served as Director of Academic Coaching. Mrs. Feyerabend taught Spanish for nine years, with four of those years being here at Chenango Valley! She has had experience as an elementary principal for nine years in both the Deposit Central School District and Union-Endicott Central School District.
 
Mrs. Feyerabend attended Binghamton University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and her Master’s Degree in teaching. She attended SUNY Cortland for her Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration. Mrs. Feyerabend is married to her husband Chris and has two children - Troy and Hayley. Mrs. Feyerabend is active in the community. She has served for the past five years on the Broome County Emergency Response team.

Mrs. Feyerabend will be focused on all aspects of the district, from instruction to safety, and will work closely with Superintendent Gill and the Board of Education to provide the best possible learning environment for students and staff at Chenango Valley CSD.
 

Mrs. Elizabeth Donahue, School Business Executive

Elizabeth Donahue joined the Chenango Valley Central School District as School Business Executive in November of 2008. Prior to joining Chenango Valley, Mrs. Donahue worked for 25 years in the banking/finance industry in various capacities. She attained the title of Assistant Vice President while managing branch offices at BSB Bank & Trust and Partners Trust Bank. During her banking/finance career she also was licensed to sell financial investments and insurance products and was responsible for the oversight of policy and procedure compliance for the branch functions of the bank.

Mrs. Donahue is a proud graduate of both Thousand Islands Central School District and State University of New York at Oswego, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematical Economics. 

Mrs. Donahue lives in the Chenango Valley Central School District with her husband, William (CV Class of 1977). They have two adult daughters that graduated from the Chenango Valley Central School District; Megan (CV Class of 2007) and Ivy (CV Class of 2011). They also have two grandchildren attending the district; Emma (CV class of 2030) and Aiden (CV class of 2031).


Mrs. Sarah Latimer, Director of Technology and Curriculum

Sarah Latimer joined the Chenango Valley Central School District as the Director of Technology and Curriculum in March 2013. Prior to joining Chenango Valley, Mrs. Latimer taught in the UECSD as a librarian in the elementary and middle schools for 5 years and as a teacher on special assignment for four years. As a teacher on special assignment, Sarah served as the district’s instructional technology coordinator, designing and teaching professional development and assisting in technology implementation plans. During her time in U-E, she was a frequent presenter at and served on the Board of Directors for the Endicott Educational Resource Center. Prior to U-E, Sarah began her teaching career in Andes, NY as a K-12 librarian for two years. Mrs. Latimer received her B.A in Japanese and Linguistics from SUNY Albany, her Masters of Library Science from SUNY Buffalo and her Certificate of Advanced Studies from Binghamton University.

Mrs. Latimer lives in Endwell with her husband Jeremy, son Abrahm, and daughter Annabelle.  


Mr. Brad Tomm, Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics and Assistant Principal

Brad Tomm joined the Chenango Valley School District in October of 2012 as the Director of Athletics, Physical Education, Health and Assistant Principal 7-12. Mr. Tomm has been in the field of education for the past 16 years. He has worked as a physical education teacher, GED teacher, a student support specialist for Broome Tioga BOCES. He has also worked as an assistant principal for BT BOCES CTE and Building Principal for BT BOCES East Learning Center.

Mr. Tomm holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland, a Master’s degree in School Counseling from SUNY Oneonta and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Jones International University.

Mr. Tomm is married and has two sons who attend Chenango Valley Central School District.

Mr. Tomm continues to be excited and honored to be a part of the Chenango Valley Central School District and looks forward to serving the students, staff and families within our districts. 


Mrs. Tara Williams Whittaker, Director of Special Education
Mrs. Tara Whittaker

Tara Williams Whittaker joined the Chenango Valley School District in September of 2012 as the Interim Director of Early Childhood and Literacy. She was appointed the Director of Special Education effective July 1, 2014.  Mrs. Whittaker has been in the field of education for the past 16 years. She has worked as a special education teacher, a student support specialist and transitions coordinator, a Director of Special Education and Interim Director of Early Childhood and Curriculum PreK - 6, serving Oxford Central Schools, Broome-Tioga BOCES, Sherburne-Earlville Central Schools, Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES and Chenango Valley Central Schools.

Mrs. Whittaker holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta, a Master’s degree in Special Education from Binghamton University and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration from SUNY Cortland.

Mrs. Whittaker is married and has two sons who attend the Greene Central School District.

Mrs. Whittaker continues to be excited and honored to be a part of the Chenango Valley Central School District and looks forward to serving the students, staff and families within our district.

 
Mrs. Johanna Hickey, Director of Pupil Services
Johanna HickeyJohanna Hickey recently joined the Chenango Valley Central School District as the Director of Pupil Services. Prior to joining Chenango Valley, Mrs. Hickey worked as a teacher and administrator for the Union-Endicott Central School District for 18 years. During her time with Union-Endicott, Mrs. Hickey worked as a K-12 music teacher, elementary assistant principal, middle school associate principal and most recently as an elementary principal. She also served as the K-12 Music Department Chair and sixth-12th grade English Department Chair.  

Mrs. Hickey received her bachelor’s degree in music from Ithaca College. She received her master's degree in Educational Studies and her Certificate of Advanced Studies from Binghamton University. Mrs. Hickey is married to her husband Andrew and they have two children, Iris and William.

Mrs. Hickey is excited to be a part of the Chenango Valley Central School District. She looks forward to meeting and working with the CV community.
