3. Spirit Week is this week (K-12)! Please remind your student of the themes for the week (
More information: Click Here). I hope to see many high school students participating!
4. We are still working on our daily attendance. Just a few suggestions: If your student is on quarantine, or waiting on a negative COVID result and is feeling OK to zoom into classes, please encourage your child to zoom. Many students on quarantine are not remoting into classes, and then being marked absent. I would like to send a special thank you to our school nurse, Mrs. Frost, for working hard on making sure the school is up-to-date with COVID results and releases back to school. Her job was difficult pre-pandemic, but in addition to the daily tasks that she already had, she has done a fantastic job of keeping in touch with our families and ensuring that students get back as quickly as possible! Thank you for your patience with our nurse's office - her job isn't easy, but it's necessary! In addition, if your child expresses anxiety about coming to school, please reach out to your child's school counselor. There are strategies they can share with you to help them with school avoidance. Remember, we are a team!
5. A reminder that our CV High School Winter Concert is Thursday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. in the CV High School gym. Please remember to follow all COVID protocols (wear a mask, sit 3 ft. from another family group) if attending the concert. I'm very excited to hear our student musicians!
6. The 5-week marking period ends Friday. Please encourage your child to be sure to have all work submitted. Also, if you haven't signed up for Parent Portal (to check their grades, attendance, assignments), please reach out to your child's school counselor to sign up. It's very easy! If you have any questions regarding your child's grades, please reach out to the teacher. They have the most accurate information.
7. I want to thank the students for their improved behavior and pride in our school. We have many students reporting when there is an issue in a bathroom, for example. This allows us to pinpoint our investigation and helps to get the bathroom cleaned and re-opened at a much faster rate. We have been able to keep more bathrooms open because students are following the 'see something, say something' rule!
As always, thank you for your continued support and patience! I'm so very proud of our school and community!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful winter break. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all!
