Message from Principal Hammond (9-30-2021)

Hello to everyone,

We have had a very busy month of September and it so wonderful to have our kids in person to learn together.

The season of fall has started this week and October is here. We will all get to enjoy cooler temperatures.....less rain.....and some more sunshine. Fingers crossed!

There are some important items to share with you:

*The CV Elementary PTA is looking for more members! Please consider joining and helping out in our school community. It is $5.00 to join this school year.

*Please remember to send in your Krispy Kreme orders and money tomorrow.....Friday, October 1st, 2021...with your child to school.

*Our "Open House" was a huge success! We really were happy to see our students and their families visiting our beautiful school.

*Please remember to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions. We have many terrific new faces here this school year. You can email any of us or call the Main Office and leave a message. Our Special Area teachers (Art, Physical Education, Library, and Music) are working between both CB and PD. We have one new face that your kids will be working with and that is Mrs. Andrea Shields. She is a certified teacher in New York State and is our long-term substitute for our Library. She works closely with Mrs. Wiggins, our Teaching Assistant. We are very excited to have our students participating in book circulation during their Library classes. They are so excited to bring them home to read with you. Please enjoy this!

*We are having our annual "Rally in the Valley" on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021 from 6-8 PM outside in the "Warrior Stadium"....Wear your red and gray!  Food will be available!  Family fun time for sure. For more information: Click Here

*Every time you shop at an area WEIS store, you can help our school earn money. Please consider participating when you shop.

*We will be having an "Early Dismissal Drill" day on Thursday, October 7, 2021. We will be dismissing 15 minutes earlier than our normal dismissal time.

*Your kids are probably telling you that we have been doing some safety drills and we have been. We have a required number of drills to complete in the fall and then again....in the spring. Everyone is doing super!

*There is no school on Columbus Day - Monday, October 11, 2021.

*Last, but not least, we have our school pictures coming up in October. Our dates at PD are Thursday, October 14, 2021 and Friday, October 15, 2021. More information and flyers with the picture package details will be coming home early next week.

Wishing everyone a very happy Friday and an awesome weekend ahead!
We are so happy to have your kids here with us every day.

With warmest wises!
Mrs. Hammond
