Dear Chenango Valley Families,
We wanted to send you a brief update to keep you informed on a power outage situation that happened this morning, January 20, 2022.
Here is the process of events that occurred:
- Power at the Chenango Valley Middle School/High School and Chenango Bridge Elementary campuses went off around approximately 7:20 a.m.
- The Chenango Valley Middle School/High School campus still had water, heat, and limited lighting.
- Plans were made to temporarily reroute Chenango Bridge Elementary students and staff to Port Dickinson Elementary, while the district evaluated power restoration with the local power company.
- As we prepared plans and communications, the power began to come back on at the Middle School/High School building, followed by the Chenango Bridge Elementary building. Power at both buildings was fully restored by 8:30 a.m.
- A text/email alert was then sent to let families know that power had been restored at both buildings.
This was a rapidly evolving situation, and we thank you for your understanding.
