Summer Program Image 

At Chenango Valley Central School District, our mission is to inspire, engage, and empower all students to achieve their full potential.

This mission expands the 10-month school year. Therefore, with the help of the programs listed below, our district is proud to present FREE opportunities for our students to continue their educational growth year-round.
**Please note: All grades reflected below refer to grade levels that students will be enrolled in for the 2018-19 school year.**

Moving to Middle School
 5th to 6th Grade Transition Program 
 Program Choices (Choose One):
Session 1:  July 9 - 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Session 2: July 16 - 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Session 3: July 17 - 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Location: Chenango Valley Middle School 
A special transition program where 2018-2019 incoming 6th grade students will learn more about middle school, meet some middle school teachers, practice lockers, learn about how to stay organized, learn some study skills, and do some team building activities.  Call the Middle School Guidance Office for more information at (607) 762-6918.

(Grades: 7 - 10)  
Date: July 16 - July 26, 2018
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: One week at BOCES campus/ one week at SUNY Broome campus
  •  A two-week hands-on program that engages students in project-based learning around STEAM through the design cycle. Local engineers team up with students in small learning communities to explore and develop projects with real-world applications.
  •  One week will be taught at the Broome-Tioga BOCES campus and one week taught at SUNY Broome campus, then groups will switch. *Groups: (7 & 8) / (9 & 10)
  •  The camp will run all day and transportation is provided from the CV Middle School security entrance. Pick up/drop off information will be provided at a later date.

 Elementary Summer STEAM
(Grades: 1 - 6)

Session 1: July 9 - July 19, 2018

Session 2: July 23 - August 2, 2018

Times: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Mon. - Thurs.)

Location: CV Middle School/High School

  • Our popular elementary summer STEAM camp is back! We’ve made some organizational changes, while keeping all the fun. This year’s projects will focus on the theme of nature and we hope to incorporate at least one field trip again this year for each session!
  • Students will be grouped in 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 grade classes and will meet Monday - Thursday for 2 weeks. The session will be repeated a second time to allow more students to participate. Please only sign up for one session.
  • We will not be able to provide transportation to the program this year, but we will again be able to take the students to the Summer Fun Program at the conclusion of our program.

 CV Summer Arts Program 
(Grades: 7 - 11)

Dates: July 16 - July 26, 2018

Times: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Mon. - Thurs.)

Location: CV Middle School/High School

Do you like Art? Music? Drama? Dance?

Come join us for our first annual CV Summer Arts Program! During our two weeks together, you will be working with other CV students to create a performance to present to the Summer Fun students at the end of the program.

It’s our first year so come help us create what we hope will become a new tradition at CV!

 Warrior Academy
(Grades: 6 - 12)

Date: July 9 - August 9, 2018

Session 1 (Grades 8-12): 7:00 - 8:30 a.m.

Session 2 (Grades 8-12): 8:40 - 10:10 a.m.

Session 3 (Grades 6-9): 10:20 - 11:35 a.m.

Location: CV Middle School/High School

  • Strength and conditioning academy for all CV students grades 6 through 12!
  • Integrated UHS Athletic Trainer & UHS Human Performance Trainer!
  • Students will focus on strength/conditioning/flexibility/agility training for ALL SPORTS!
  • Students will also participate in “Theme Weeks” to focus on specific topics in athletic training.
