Members of the Broome-Endicott SWAT team did simulated training for dangerous bus situations.
Training took place at the Chenango Valley Central School District Bus Garage on July 12. It included tubular assault practice, which is an operation performed in a tube-like space usually for the rescuing of hostages. With this practice, officers had the chance to go through “what-if” scenarios and figure out which tactics work better than others.
Members of the Chenango Valley staff also participated as hostages to help out.
Authorities said the goal is to help be prepared to handle all types of dangerous scenarios.
