Lessons Encourage Strength and Positivity
Mr. William Clark, a World Champion powerlifter and CV social studies teacher, spoke with Mr. Tidick's current events/local history class on November 17.

Mr. Clark told students that one key to a successful life is to "surround yourself with positive influences."

This was all part of Mr. Tidick's lessons on "CV's local heroes."

Mr. Tidick recently brought in former Broome Dusters hockey player Mr. Max Hansen, who discussed his hockey career and other related topics.  He also previously brought in Mr. Robert Zanot, a CV High School art teacher who played Division I football at the University of Notre Dame, and CVHS Principal Mr. Terry Heller, who played collegiate basketball at LeMoyne College. They both discussed how their college experiences helped them in their professional careers.

In the near future, Mr. Tidick will bring in Mr. Trent Patterson, a security monitor at CV Middle/High School.  Mr. Patterson was a former Alabama University lineman and a contestant on the reality game show "The Biggest Loser."

The goal of these lessons is to provide students not only with history and facts, but also to bring in positive role models for students to engage with firsthand.
