Chenango Valley Middle School students put handmade cardboard boats to the test in the Chenango Valley HS/MS pool as the school held its annual "Cardboard Boat Races" event on February 28!
Students saw if their boats could carry at least one person the length of the pool and back. They studied the basics of boat construction and physics to prepare. Some students built their colorful boats and paddles made of cardboard and duct tape individually; while others chose to work in teams.
