There were 60 Chenango Bridge Elementary students who took on the school's "Summer Reading BINGO" challenge. For the challenge, all students received a new book in June and a "Summer Reading BINGO" board with 25 activities to complete over the summer.
After they returned to school and turned in their completed boards, students were invited to "Lunch in the Library." Each student who participated was presented with a certificate, a pencil, and a coupon for the CB Book Fair.
Thank you to CB Principal Mrs. Hammond, CB Librarian Mrs. Gay, and third grade teacher Miss Pierce who initiated the challenge.
The goal of this activity was to encourage students to read throughout the summer, and to help decrease the "summer slide."
