The first annual Chenango Valley Summer Arts Program began on July 16. Working off the ideas of CV's Power of Kids’ Kindness (P.O.K.K.) project, the goal of this program is to promote positivity and kindness in a creative manner.
On their first day in the program, students began the preliminary stages of a mosaic that they will mod podge together using items such as atlases, novels and old music books. Students each researched an inspirational quote that will guide their mosaic piece. They also sketched out detailed plans of how they would like their mosaic to look and described how their design will help to portray their message.
This exciting program will run Monday through Thursday until July 26. It will conclude with a creative performance presented by the CV Summer Arts Program participants.
The goal is for this summer program to become an annual tradition at Chenango Valley!
