The mission of the Chenango Valley Central School District's Athletic program is to provide, as an extension of our strong academic standards, an opportunity for our students to gain positive experiences in a competitive athletic environment. Our goal is to stimulate the development of a student's personal traits including sportsmanship, character, citizenship, and mental and physical fitness.
Our school is a member of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. Our Teams compete in the East Division of the Southern Tier Athletic Conference, which is a member league in Section IV (Southern Tier and surrounding areas). STAC is the largest league in Section IV and is recognized as one of the top conferences in New York State. Our Athletes are competitive on the local, sectional and state level.
Each of the last few years, Chenango Valley student-athletes have been recognized by the school, league, local TV, newspaper, and on the state level for athletic success and scholarly achievements. Chenango Valley has a tradition of athletic success surrounded by sportsmanship and pride. Chenango Valley has 23 Varsity, 13 Junior Varsity, and 20 modified teams that participate in 15 different sports. All students are required to have a physical approved by the school physician before they may participate.
