Mr. James Pritchard
Port Dickinson Elementary Principal

Mr. Pritchard was appointed to principal of Port Dickinson in June 2002. Prior to that, he was the Vice Principal at Owego Free Academy for three years. He also was a fourth and fifth grade teacher for nine years at Apalachin Elementary School. Mr. Pritchard attended Susquehanna University for his undergraduate work where he majored in Political Science and minored in English Literature. He worked for a brokerage firm in New York City for several years before he turned to academia. He went to Lehigh University and received his Masters Degree in Elementary Education and Cortland College where he received his Administrative Certificate.

Mr. Pritchard lives with his wife Amy, a kindergarten teacher at Owego Apalachin Central Schools and his two young sons: Colin and Gavin. He loves to golf, ski and spend time with his family. As a family we enjoy taking trips to Ithaca to walk the gorges and other nature activities.

Mr. Pritchard is excited about working with such caring and professional staff of Port Dickinson Elementary. With our primary focus to on "what's good for kids and what do they need to be successful." Port Dickinson is a GREAT PLACE TO LEARN!
